Michel Andrea Lykke

        1950 - 2025

Michel Andrea Lykke, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend, passed away on July 3, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas. Born on March 10, 1950, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, Michel brought light and joy into the world from her earliest days and continued to do so throughout her life.
Michel graduated from Spring Woods High School and pursued higher education with determination and passion. She attended Sam Houston State University before earning her Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Houston. Her commitment to learning and teaching became a cornerstone of her life's work.
As a substitute teacher specializing in special needs education, Michel touched countless lives with her compassion, patience, and dedication. Her gift for teaching extended beyond the classroom-she also taught primary education at her church, where her nurturing spirit and creative energy inspired young minds and hearts.
Michel was a gifted artist whose creativity knew no bounds. Whether she was painting vivid canvases or tending lovingly to her garden, she found joy in creating beauty from the world around her. Her hands were often stained with paint or soil-tangible reminders of the vibrant life she led and the memories she crafted for those around her.
She had a deep passion for art and music, which she shared generously with others. Her exuberant laugh and radiant smile could light up any room. Michel lived with an open heart and an adventurous spirit-always curious, always hopeful. She embraced each day with enthusiasm and grace.
Above all else, Michel cherished her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children: son Paul Lykke and his wife Christina with their children Jackson and Ryan; daughter Kristen Burton and her husband Mitch with their children Andrea and Dylan; son Jayson Lykke and his wife Kim with their children Harper, Paxton, and Sophia; and son Kyle Lykke. She also leaves behind her brother Gerald D Andrea.
Michel was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Glenn Andrea and Iona Marie Andrea.
The heavens rejoiced in the morning as they prepared to welcome a radiant soul home to God. In the afternoon, they wept as all of Michel's children gathered by her side to say goodbye. Though she is no longer physically present among us, the legacy of love, light, creativity, and kindness that she leaves behind will endure through generations.
Her family invites those who knew Michel to share memories that celebrate her remarkable life. Each story is a thread in the beautiful tapestry of love that she wove during her time on earth.
May Michel Andrea Lykke, rest in peace, knowing she lived a full, vibrant life-a life that brought joy to many and left the world more beautiful than she found it. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 15, 2025, from 06:00 PM to 07:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 27707 Glen Loch Dr. There will be a short service that will include a time for anyone to share a story or memory of Mom & after we will have  refreshments and a slide show in a separate room.
