       1950-2011


David Shuler Gamble, age 61, of Houston, passed away on Monday, the 28th of November 2011 in Houston, Texas. He was born on the 23rd of July 1950, in Oklahoma City, to Shuler Stratton Gamble and Mary Elizabeth Curry, who preceded him in death.

David was married to Janine Clark of Houston and graduated from University of Texas Law School at Austin. He was an attorney for 37 years, spending the last 22 years of his career with Beirne, Maynard and Parsons, LLP in corporate litigation. He cherished his time as an active member and former president of the Texas Lyceum, as well as serving on the Board of Regents of Texas Southern University.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years and three children: Allison Gamble of Houston, Evan Gamble of Los Angeles, and Mariclaire Gamble of Austin.

Friends are cordially invited to greet the family during a reception from eleven o'clock in the morning until two o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 2nd of December, in the Library and Grand Foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

Serving as honorary pallbearers during Friday's services are Martin Beirne, Sid Bowers, Creg Hargis and Don Henderson.

In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in honor of David may be directed to Insight for Living, P.O. Box 269000, Plano, TX, 75026-9000.

David was always a sweetheart to me......kind hearted.....He made the world a better place.  It was always a joy to see him and Janine at the reunuons.
