Victor Arnim Wessels, Jr., 74, of Dayton died Sunday, June 23, 2024.  He was born on January 16, 1950, in Houston, to Muriel Jeanne Edworthy Wessels and Victor Arnim Wessels, Sr.

Victor was part owner of Wessel Machine Works along with his father and brother.  He worked for the City of Houston’s Metro system as a bus driver and later supervisor where he retired after many years.  Victor was a member of the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed living away from the city and residing on his rural acreage where at one time he had horses and cattle with Jolynn who preceded him in death in 2007.   Victor enjoyed researching any topic as well as visiting with friends over lunch.  He is someone who was always available whenever you needed him.  Victor will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his brother, James Wessels and his wife, Suzanne, of Kerrville; nephews, Brian Wessels and his wife, Kaitlyn; and Kevin Wessels and his wife, Kelsie; great-niece, Blake Wessels; and numerous first and second cousins; adopted son, Dallas Marsh of Dayton; long-time companion, Tavasha Banning of Dayton; step-daughter, Janet Scharer; close dear friend, Wesley Wagner and his children, Steven, Melody, and Kathleen, all of Cleveland; and many other family and friends.

A graveside service for Mr. Wessels will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Hardin Chapel Cemetery, 1005 FM 834, Hardin under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.
