DORIS ANNETTE READ BOGART, Child of God, Wife, Mother and Friend went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, May 19, 2003. Doris was born August 1, 1918 in Paradise, Texas to Lucille and Thomas P. Read.
She was the high school valedictorian and received her degree from North Texas State University at the age of nineteen. She taught home economics for over 30 years in the Spring Branch Independent School District, and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa professional sorority.
Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hank, with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage. They were charter members of Chapelwood United Methodist Church and the Wedding Band Sunday School class.
She is survived by her daughters, Patty Bogart Murrill and husband Joe, Khaki Bogart Murrill and husband Jim, Kim Bogart Wetmore and husband Clint; son, Doug Bogart and wife Barby; grandchildren, Brad Murrill and wife Jennifer, Khaki and husband Dr. Chip Lano, Ben and Kerry Murrill, Evan Wetmore, Mark, Rob and Brian Bogart; great grandchildren, Katie, Kinsey, Charlie and Chase Lano, Heather and Matthew Murrill.
Following a private burial at Memorial Oaks Cemetery there will be a service of resurrection and remembrance in the Chapel of Chapelwood United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at three o'clock in the afternoon. Memorials in Doris's name will be kindly accepted by the Foundation at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11410 Greenbay, Houston, Texas 77024.
