Willistine Cherry Criner

1916-2010

Mrs. Criner graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1940.  She moved to Houston in 1960 and taught World History at Spring Branch High School.  When Spring Woods High School opened in 1964, Mrs. Criner was the Chairman of the Social Studies Department and taught World Hisotry until she retired.

She never had children of her own but talked often, with love, of her students.  She enjoyed traveling the world and was an avid reader.  She was extremely well versed in world history and all current events and could debate any topic up until her death at age 93.

She is survived by her two beloved nieces, Caryn, and Candy Cherry.
