Dale Maurice Stafford

1923-2014

Dale Stafford was an American History teacher and Coach at Spring Woods.

From obituary:
Dale Maurice Stafford was born May 31, 1923 and passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 in Granbury, Texas.  He was 91 years old.  Burial is Acton Cemetery, Acton, Texas.

He served his country proudly in World War II.  He served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Marine aboard the USS Saratoga. 

He graduated from TCU with a degree in Physical Education.  He received a Master's degree from from Baylor University.  Dale coached athletics for 16 years.  Twelve of those years were in Marlin, Texas.  He truly loved his Marlin Bulldogs.

Dale moved to Houston, Texas where he remained for over 30 years.  He retired as Principal of Stratford High School.  He loved his Lord, his country and his family.  Dale truly made a difference in this world.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved grandmother, Addie Baldwin and his brothers, Herman and Orville Stafford.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth Stafford of Grandbury; sons, JAmes Dale Stafford, Patrick Stafford and wife, Ashley, all of Houston; brother, Jim Stafford; sisters, Joy Looney, Phyllis Allison and husband, Ronnie; and many other friends and relatives.
