Claude Edward Cook taught Speech & Drama

Obituary:

Claude Edward Cook, 49, went to his heavenly home on May 5, 1989.  Claude will be missed by his family and many friends.  He was a member of Unity Church of Christianity of Houston.

A teacher for 27 years, Claude taught in the Spring Branch, Houston and Alief School Districts and at Houston Community College.  

He was a graduate of Baylor University ('61) and held a Masters Degree from the University of Houston.  

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Cook, Sr. (Jim and Lena Maye); brothers, James E. Cook, Jr., M.D. and wife, Carol of Houston, Reverend Clyde T. Cook and his wife, Connie of Greensboro, N.C.; his beloved nieces and nephews, Cindy and Michael Ballaro, Chris Cook, Kelly and Mark Gauger, Kim, Karen and Katherine Mays; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family visitation with friends will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday at Waltrip Funeral Home, 1415 Campbell Road.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 8 at 11 a.m. at Unity Church, 2929 Unity Drive with the Reverend Howard Caesar officiating.

For those so desiring the family request that in lieu of usual rememberances, contributuions be made to the American Lung Association, New Age Hospice or the United Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
