Mr. Cordray taught Civics our senior year.  His sister was our classmate, Francine Cordray.  

Obituary:
Cloy Bryan Cordray, C.B. passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023.  Born on June 9, 1943 in Winters, Texas, the son of John M. Cordray and Betty Jo Boozer.  He is preceded in death by his parents John and Betty Cordray.   He is survived by sister Peggy S. Tucker and husband Billy Tucker, sister Francine Turicchi and brother John M. Cordray Jr. “Corky” and wife Glenda Cordray.  In addition, he leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

Cloy graduated from Southwestern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History.

While at Southwestern he was the President of The Canterbury Club at Grace Episcopal Church and was very active in church life.

After graduation he was a teacher of history at Spring Woods High School and an Associate Professor of History at the University of Houston.

From 1970 to 1985, For 15 years he worked in Washington D.C. for the USAID that is part of the State Department.  His job with USAID was to research goods and materials to supply foreign countries.   Afterward he had two short term contracts to research goods and material for the rebuilding the school system in Iraq.

Cloy was an avid bike rider.  He rode his bike to and from work in Washington D.C. and all-around the Houston area.

Cloy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  His final resting place is Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown, Texas.
