1947-2024

John Eldon Mitchell John Eldon Mitchell, age 76, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on January 20, 2024. He was born May 28, 1947, in Houston, TX, to Mary Elise (Fusselle) and L.R. Mitchell. John married Diana Gloria (Cardenas) on June 6, 1970, in Saltillo, Coahuila – Mexico. He earned his Master’s degree in Spanish and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. John was a self-employed CPA. He loved music, guitar, languages, the Bible, and fitness. John is survived by his loving wife, Diana Gloria (Cardenas) Mitchell; children, Ann Elise Mitchell Buck and husband James, and Roy Albert Mitchell and wife Wendy; grandchildren: Isaiah Buck, Vivienne Buck, Evangeline Buck, Rocco Mitchell, Lucca Mitchell, and Stella Mitchell; sister, Judith Ann Hynes; and nephews, John Hynes, Steven Hynes, David Hynes, and Daniel Hynes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elise Mitchell and L.R. Mitchell; Inez Fusselle Mitchell, and Myrna Mitchell Cedar

A celebration of John’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 15, 2024, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall location.
