Janet was a dedicated and busy Internet pioneer for online education in the Latin language.   This was about 2001 and the years before.  Much of what she contributed is still available on the Internet.  I corresponded with her briefly during this time period.

A brief autobio taken from the Internet:

"After having taught Latin for over 30 years, editing the most recent edition of the Latin for Americans textbook series (2001), and teaching televised Latin for the Texas Education Agency Region IV Education Service Center to high schools throughout Southeast Texas, I am now working with Latin students one-on-one, person-to-person, teaching and tutoring Latin on the Internet as well as to homeschoolers across the United States. I teach seminars and give in-services to various organizations and school districts, and I man the Internet's first and only "Latin Grammar Hotline," dispensing brief bits of advice and grammar assistance to "desperate" Latin students on a first-come, first- served basis. If you need more personal attention with your Latin, give me a call now! We can work through any problems that you are having with your Latin grammar."

Laus tibi, O praecursor! (Kudos to you, O pioneer)
