Gosh, I'll always remember George Ewing as a very nice and "gifted" young man. I recall him playing French horn with me at Black JHS; and also his playing football and being the Houston city champion in the 50 or 100 yard dash back in the 8th or 9th grade.
George was a talented French horn player and he & I enjoyed sharing a music stand together for 3 years at Black JHS.
When we entered Waltrip, George quit the band to focus his energy on football and track; which was pretty wise because I think it earned him a college FB scholarship to play wide receiver at Tulsa.
I can only hope & pray that George gets his chance to play one of those "Herald" trumpets up in heaven.
George was one of my football heroes. He hung out with my other hero, Bubba. I am truly sad that he has left this world. Strange, but I remember him and so,so many of you. We couldn't wait to graduate and now we know that high school was one of the best times of our lives. Yes, I can see George's face now...and was it Ginny? May God bless all of you.....Jan Taylor Brown...somewhere on a ranch in southwest Texas.
