Katya in Gatchina Park. Irina and the kids spent two months in Russia visiting Irina's parents and grandmother (a Siege of Leningrad survivor). They live in Gatchina which is a half-hour south of St. Petersburg. Summer 2013.

Katya - summer 2013. A bridge in Gatchina Park. Gatchina palace and the surrounding park was Czar Nicholas' primary residence a hundred years ago. Katya is 9 and about to enter fourth grade.

Dave - summer 2013. He's standing on the main street of Gatchina. Dave is almost 6 now and about to enter first grade.

Annie (we call her Anya, too). She has my mother's wavy auburn hair. When they got back home, Annie had forgotten all her English and could only speak to me in Russian. The older two did the same when they were little. They relearn English quickly.
