I am shocked and saddened at the loss of my friend Sue. We texted each other on Monday evening, 2/15/16. I wished her a happy 70th birthday, which was Tuesday. On Tuesday morning as I was preparing to send her birthday wishes via an "e-card," I received the phone call that she had passed away suddenly overnight. I was stunned, and I guess I still am. We were mere acquaintances back in high school, but we had developed a true friendship over the past 16 years or so, long distance though it was. We re-connected through the internet and began having discussions about planning for the class of '64 fortieth reunion. Our friendship grew through emails and phone calls. My wife, Donna, and I spent a lot of time with Sue at the last 3 large reunions in 2006, 2010, and 2015. We had lunch or dinner several times when Donna and I traveled from Denver to San Antonio to visit family. Recently, her 11th grandchild was born--she was thrilled. She was a special lady who handled the curves life had thrown her with grace and dignity. She was forever the optimist, and her future looked bright. She put her faith in the Lord, and I'm sure He is taking good care of her. Good-bye sweet friend, may you rest in peace. You will be forever missed.
It was wonderful to see Sue at the reunions and communicating on FB. Sue was a delightful, beautiful person! She had found so much joy recently and I was so happy for her! So sorry to hear of Sue's untimely passing. Deepest condolences to her family and fiance. RIP, dear Sue.
It saddens me that another of our intrepid band of the Class of "64 has left us.
My prayers are for her and her family, and also that we must always be ready to stand before the God that made us all, and in her case hear, "Well done my faithful servant, and welcome home".
So completely shocked and saddened by the news of Sue's passing. It was a delight to see her at the reunion last year and communicate through facebook on occasion. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
I didn't know Sue very well but when we were in high school, I always admired her. It's nice to hear she grew into as classy a lady as she was as a teenager. I know she'll be missed by her family and friends. I am so sorry for their loss.
Sue was a beautiful lady, kind, gracious and caring. I keep the picture of her smiling face alway. May God bless her family & friends through this difficult time. Connie Osoba
I am so shocked to here about the sudden loss of such a beautiful, sweet lady. I had seen her at the last few reunions and she was always so gracious. My heart goes out to her family, friends and fiancé. They are in my thoughts and prayers.
I was utterly shocked to hear about Sue earlier this week. What a loss for all of us who knew her and most of all for her family. In school I always thought of Sue as "dignified." But she was so much more than that. She was a genuinely good person who lived her life in such a way that she was admired and trusted and loved. She cared for others selflessly. The world was a better place because she was here. Sue and I re-connected several years ago and shared an interest in reading and in writing. She was encouraging me to have knee-replacement surgery and told me just the other day that she would be glad when I decided to have it done. I am just so deeply sad over the loss of this valuable person.
