Carole was 35 and her daughter's names are Lisa and Kelly. Carol had an amazing spirit. When we were freshman and did not know each other we tired out for the volleyball team. The hurricane had ruined the gym floor so try-outs were outside. If you made it to court 1 by the time try-outs were over you were on the team. Carol started out off the volleyball courts, in the handball court area. I think there were around around 150 of us trying out. I started out on court 1 and stayed there. I started noticing them moving Carole up one court at a time. Just before try-outs were over Carole was moved to court one. She started for our team. She earned my respect immediatley. I was so impressed with her determination and attitude. A teammate to be proud to play beside.

Dear Mrs. Boehle,

You both sound to me like two Westbury High School champions. Wish I had had the good sense and sensibilities to go watch your team play. I'm sure they do that today, as women in sports receive great acclaim. And they should. My idol from your gender was Ms. Swoops from Texas Tech. She shot basketballs to become a world champion and star of the sport, as I'm sure you know much better than me.

Thank you for adding this story of your friend, and our classmate. You showed her strength. And I humbly loved hearing of her coming up through the ranks determinedly, while you watched from a place already achieved of prominence in competition.

Please note that I am still working on the publishing process for this section. In addition, Mrs. Linda Hagerman is scanning from yearbooks the photos of all those listed in In Memory so that their pictures depicting their youth are made available to those of us paying our respects. Mrs. Bagley's family is also invited to present photos or additional stories.

My condolences to this lady's fine survivors, to emphasize you as one of them: a good and truly meaningful team member and caring close friend.

Please extend my sympathies to her family,

Skip Collins
