Norman Edward Zator graduated from Westbury High School with the first class to do so in 1962.According to the record, he joined the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Highway Patrol, in 1966. He was stationed for the 3 years before his death at La Marque, Texas.
While on duty and stopping a vehicle for a traffic citation, Patrolman Zator was shot and killed. Thus, he died in the line of duty. As a citizen of this state who benefitted greatly from his contributions to our safety and the quality of our lives, I thank Randy for his sacrifice to us all.
I wish you well, Officer Zator. It is my privilege to place this notice of your leaving us, at least for this time, in Westbury High School's alumni registration's In Memory virtual role of honor.
With condolences to your family, and dear appreciation and everlasting gratitude for the meaning that your life has given to us.
The Zators set an example of class at Westbury - friendly, quiet, and unassuming. I was stunned when I learned about Norman's passing at the last reunion, just as I was with Billy Friesen and Luther Bain. I had known both of them before even coming to Westbury.

I certainly appreciate the Memorial for my brother but the thanks for the sacrifice should be given to Norman, not to me.Randy Zator
