Carol was the editor of the "Rebel Yell" the year I worked on the staff. You know the kind, always cheerful with a smile. I don't believe editor was an elected office. I believe Mrs. Long selected who the editor would be based on grades and talent. It didn't matter in the school year of 1962-1963. I'm sure Carol would have been the editor, either way.

It is sad. In my world, none of us would have already left.

I believe that Carol was in my home room and that we shared a couple of classes.

I remember her as a softer spoken person who "stayed within herself", was always

neat in appearance and presented a nice smile.  One couldn't help but like her because

of her pleasantness.   It's sad that a "gentle  soul" such as Carol is no longer with us.

Carol and I knew each other for many years and we carpooled for a long time.  She was a sweet girl and a very smart girl.  I was extremely saddened by her early death.

Carol and I were in Blue Birds and then CampFire Girls together.  She was conscientious (probably influenced by her mother's being the group leader), and always fun to be around.  So sad to know how short her life was.
