PAUL BRIAN SPAIN, 52, of Katy, died February 28 in Houston. He was born February 5, 1952 in Bishop, California to Merlyn and Bill Spain. He graduated from Westchester High School in 1970. He attended the University of Colorado for two years prior to starting his own company, P & K Construction. In 1986, Paul went to work for the City of Houston, first with the Parks and Recreation Department, later transferring to the Sign Administration as a Code Enforcement Inspector, a position he held until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his father, William F. Spain. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Taylor; stepdaughter, Erin; mother, Merlyn; brothers, William F., Jr., Stephen C. (WHS 1973)  and wife, Jill; sisters, Carol A. Spain and Linda J. de Bruin, and husband, George; six nephews and three nieces. Paul's family is especially grateful for the care and concern of nephew, Andrew Bates, and wife, Sheryn.
