Delaine is so missed. She and I became good friends the last 2 years of her life, with her visiting Austin a few times. She fought hard till the end, but ultimately, breast cancer won the battle. God bless.

On March 24, 2007 I lost one of my dearest friends and God gained an amazing angel. Not one day passes that I don't think about Delaine. Those that knew her remember her zest for adventure and fun in life! Years later she still grabbed life with both hands. I was able to spend some incredible time with her in January. We sat huddled in her bed laughing and talking and remembering "old times". Delaine was so looking forward to our 30 year reunion. Friends, family, and her pets were her most important treasures. All through her illness she still maintained the sparkle in her eye, her infectious laugh, her wonderful sense of humor and her kind heart. She definately was a hero all the way to the very end. She gave the fight against cancer her all...never wanting to give up. She leaves behind her 2 beautiful children Harry (named after her father) and Jacqueline. She loved those kids more than life itself. Her husband Bill was an amazing caregiver...I really cannot express his love for Delaine. So at our 30 I will carry Delaine in my heart and raise a toast in her honor. One of my best gifts in life is being able to call Delaine my precious friend.

Just found this website and also the news on Delaine. Gotta agee with Theresa. Delaine always had an infectious zeal for life and did always enjoy seeing her. Delaine and I did not always see eye to eye but in the end discovered we really were just good friends. I remember lots of times going toe to toe with her about just about everything but I gotta admit to know Delaine was to Love Delaine. So here to you Delaine and I hope to see you later. love your high school friend,
