Your death makes me so sad even 25 years later. Even though I did not know you well, we were connected through time and a shared past at Memorial Junior High and Westchester. It is difficult for me to understand, but I was not in your shoes to know what you were experiencing in life.
I hope you hear these words and know that I send love your way when I think of you.
I remember Paula from way back in elementary school and all through junior and high school. The whole "Bendwood Park Crew" played softball together and our dad's all coached at one time or another. My heart still hurts to think about Paula's death even 25 years later.
I have never forgotten you or our time on the swim team. You were an amazing person and you are still missed.
This was one of the sadest memories of high school for me - going to Paula Bush's funeral. I just didn't even know what to say to her parents who were absolutely devastated. Paula was an only child if I remember correctly.
Paula shared her feelings to me many times on the bus to swimming and swim meets. She always felt "stupid." I don't know if Paula was what we call today dyslexic, but I know that she was such a GENTLE soul. She loved to laugh and was always joking around. I can still see those freckles when I think of her.
I still think of Paula through all these years. I knew Paula best from our church - Memorial Drive Lutheran Church. We went on many church trips together. I still pray for her family. Miss you Paula!
