Pamela Gayle Golden, born May 24, 1958 passed away on February 16, 2018 in New Braunfels, Texas.
Shown here dancing with her son at his wedding in 2016. Pam had so looked forward to attending our 40th reunion later that year, but sadly became ill before then. She spent the last year and a half of her life in a nursing home in New Braunfels.
Pam passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Pam was born in Houston, TX on May 24, 1958. She is survived by her son Tyler Golden and wife Liz; parents Peggy and Lynn Hill; sisters Karen Heldt, Sandy Parker, Toni Hill; brother Bobby Golden; nieces Kim McDougald and Amy Golden, nephew Jack Golden; and grand-nieces and nephew who loved Pam very much. Pam grew up in Houston, TX. She was a 1976 graduate of Alief High School. Following high school, Pam moved to Austin, TX and then later to San Marcos, TX where she worked in various clerical positions. Pam had a love for her family, friends and animals, especially cats. Her most recent favorite pastime was to play “Words with Friends”.
Pam was diagnosed with a critical illness and suffered a life-threatening episode during the summer of 2016. To the surprise of her family and the medical community, Pam rallied back after several months of intensive care. After this episode, Pam resided in a nursing home in New Braunfels, Texas as she worked on improving her health. She made the best of her new environment and soon became loved by the patients and staff. She always made a point to get to know everyone and address them by name. Pam's family is extremely saddened by her death. She will be sorely missed.
