Larry Dean Snyder

November 23, 1957 – June 8, 2026

Larry Dean Snyder, age 68, passed away on June 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Marble Falls, Texas. Born on November 23, 1957, to Carl and Mary Snyder, Larry grew up near Houston, where he developed the strong values, work ethic, and sense of adventure that would him guide him throughout his life.

Larry earned degrees from the University of Minnesota and the University of Texas, laying the foundation for a wide-ranging career as a software and product development engineer, executive, and educator, spanning the aerospace, defense, technology and energy industries.

On October 23, 1982, Larry and Beth Ann "Rose" Meuwissen were married in St. Cloud Minnesota. It was the union of the Lone Star and the North Star that would create a life filled with love, adventure and devotion to family. Career opportunities took them to California, Florida, and parts of Texas, but Larry always found his way home to the Texas Hill Country.

Larry’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Rose; his children – Patrick, Charlie, Mary and Katy; his four grandchildren; brother Lonny, sister Lisa, his Minnesota in-laws; Aunt Mary Ann, Aunt Donna, and numerous cousins and cherished friends.

Larry embraced life with enthusiasm and a can-do spirit. Known for his intellect, creativity, and humor, Larry approached every challenge with integrity. He enjoyed the great outdoors and any project that allowed him to build, create, or restore. He generously shared his high-tech knowledge with many who did not share that inclination. He was a craftsman and jack of all trades; there seemed to be little he could not accomplish. Larry‘s happy place was on the open water, as captain of his own boat. He loved his spaniels – Pancho, Lefty, and Nakona – trained as hunters and treasured as loyal companions.

A man of faith, Larry served his church community, most recently in his parish of St. Paul the Apostle in Horseshoe Bay. He also served his community as coach and president of his property owners association.

Larry had a gift for bringing people together, cultivating strong friendships, making people laugh. Whether helping a friend, mentoring a colleague or young person, or sharing one of his legendary tall tales, Larry left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Snyder; his parents in-law, Ben and Ann Meuwissen, sister-in-law Alice, nephew Jason, aunts and uncles.

Larry’s impact will continue to be felt in the lives of his family and all who knew him. He is deeply missed and will be lovingly remembered always.
