From her twin, Deneice:
Debbie died on October 23, 2008; one month after Hurricane Ike. She lived in Rosenberg, Texas. She was a talented nurse who worked with Cystic Fibrosis kids awaiting lung transplants at Texas Children's Hospital. She was very loved by her colleagues. The chapel overflowed with people at her memorial service.
She and her son had gone to Germany in March of the same year to visit her daughter and new grandson, Justin. While there, she contracted pneumonia and it just got worse and worse until she passed away unexpectedly in October.

This was emailed me from Debbie's twin:
Debbie Graduated in 1992. 2nd in her class as an LVN. She decided to become a Nurse after her 4yr old son Danny contracted kidney Cancer and went through yrs of radiation and Chemotherapy. She wanted to learn all she could to understand more about his disease and put it to use helping other children. Since then, My nephew has had Cancer 3 more times and over come it each time. We also decided to donate Debbie’s organs because we knew that’s what Deb would want to do: help as many people as possible. She was very selfless in that way. We found out later that her Heart was used to save a child and her Corneas were used to give another sight. She will live on forever in others.
Debbie was survived by my MOM and DAD, 3 sisters, her 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
I just found out the reunion is going to be at the first part of October. I’m sorry to say I will not be able to come. I already have tickets to go to Oregon through October 14th. I was hoping it would be the last half of October. I’m really bummed about it. I hope ya’ll will post some of the reunion pictures on Facebook. I will let you know if I find the obituary online and forward it to you. Thank you for your continued support. It means a lot that you care.
Sincerely, Deneice Crawford
