Cynthia "Cyndi" Mae Moore was born on October 9, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to Maurice Gene and Shirley Ann Winchester Houghland. She graduated from Alief Hastings High School in 1976, then moved to Oregon, where she lived until 2000, when she returned to Katy. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, and was active in M.O.P.S.  Cyndi was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother who inspired many.  

Cyndi went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, in Houston, at the age of 56 years. 

She was survived by her husband of 34 years, Richard Moore; daughter Emily Lopez and her husband Jose; granddaughter Abby Grace Lopez; mother, Shirley Houghland; sisters, Cathy Driskell and her husband Tim, and Cheryl Montgomery and her husband Thad; brother, Michael Houghland and his wife Lisa; and eight nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, in Kathy, with Rev. Jeff Adams officiating. Friends were requested to wear bright colors to celebrate Cyndi's life.
