Dale Hassell was only 37 years old when he died on June 14, 1984. 

The Hassell family was “Old Alief”.  Dale’s father “Sonny” Hassell was born in Alief, Texas in 1931.  Dale’s grandfather Ernest had a farm off of Beeler Road, now known as Westheimer.  He and his wife Roxie, known in the family as “Big Mama” later lived on F Street in Alief.  He was survived by his parents and his sister, Debra Lynne Hassell Cosby.
