Jerry died after his skull was fractured and his neck was broken after being thrown from a motorcycle he was driving.  Jerry was 21 years old at the time.  The accident happened in the 10400 block of Beechnut at 1:00 in the morning on September 11, 1980.  Jerry died at Hermann Hospital about an hour after the accident.
