Eleanor sat behind me in Mrs. Brennan's class, one of the three years we had her for English. She was one of those people with nothing to dislike. She was sweet, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. She seemed to know herself well when many of us were struggling to figure out who we were. Eleanor and I touched base again briefly before she lost her battle with cancer. I'm so happy we connected. I had thought about her often for many years and regretted that I missed the opportunity to become friends.
The usual astute observation. Admired Eleanor albeit from a bit of a distance for that very fact. In awe that someone our age (back then) could seemingly be so together. I too reconnected while she was fighting the good fight. We shared the Turtles "Elenore" for a happy moment. "Elenore I think you're swell.." A fine lady. RIP.
