I had kept up with Mike on and off over the years. We went to Rice University (took a number of premed courses together as well) and just hung together. He married a great lady and had two beautiful daughters. It was while he was helping and serving others in Central America as a part of group of doctors giving their time (he was an anesthesiologist) he contracted a inflection and died of complications within 48 hours. Very sad and he will be missed.
