HAROLD MOORE "HAL" FINNEGAN, of Houston, Texas recently passed away. Hal was born on the 20th of June 1958. He was a fourth generation Houstonian.

Hal was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and an honors graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Silver Spurs. He earned his law degree in 1984 from The University of Texas School of Law. After graduation, Hal practiced real estate law with Reynolds, White, Allen & Cook in Houston. In 1991, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University and embarked upon a successful career in investment banking with firms such as UBS and PricewaterhouseCoopers. A talented lawyer, Hal had returned to the practice of law in recent years with an independent practice and as Of Counsel to Doherty & Doherty, LLP. Hal was a life-long member of First Methodist Church. He was also an active member of Houston Country Club where he had served on the Finance Committee and the Retirement & Benefits Committee. Hal was also a Founding Member of the Texas Heart Institute Associates and a past director of The Council on Alcohol and Drugs Houston.

An avid outdoorsman, accomplished athlete and recreational pilot, Hal especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, karate, snowboarding and flying. But most of all, he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews at his family's property on the Guadalupe River near Hunt, Texas and attending their many athletic, school and church events in Houston and Austin. Hal loved them unconditionally and was an important part of their lives.

Dearly loved by his family and many friends, Hal was predeceased by his parents, Martha Ann and Bill Finnegan; his nephew, Nick Finnegan; his maternal grandparents, Martha and Harold Moore; and his paternal grandparents, Mary and Bill Finnegan. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Ray Benestante; his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Susan Finnegan; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Tony Corbett; and his nieces and nephews who all meant so much to him, Mariann Dunwoody, Hallie Thompson, Phillip Hablinski, Terrell and Scotty Finnegan, Holden, Finn and Michael Corbett.

The Memorial Service is to be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 8th of May, at First Methodist Church, 1320 Main St., in Houston.
Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private interment at Glenwood Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Campbell, Edward Crain, Kevin Grace, Lee Hood, Gee Kane, Richard Lucas, Mark Peterson, Tommy Schleier, Matt Thanheiser , Rusty Walter and Bill Winters. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Hablinski, Scotty Finnegan, Holden Corbett, Finn Corbett, Michael Corbett, David Dunwoody and Matt Thompson.
