
Tommy Crowson
1947 - 2004
Thomas Walton " Tommy" Crowson, age 56, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, in Houston after a sudden illness. He was born on Oct. 31, 1947, in Houston, the son of Delta Crowson and the late H. Norman Crowson.
Mr. Crowson was Christian by faith, and a former member of LifeWay Church in Hungerford.
Mr. Crowson resided in Hungerford periodically from 1987 until the spring of 2004. In 1990, he started WeatherGuard Roofing, which has since been sold, but is still in business in Wharton today. Prior to that, Mr. Crowson was the owner of Houston Clay Products, a successful brick company. He loved football and was forever a Houston Oiler fan.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at Schmidt"Schmidt Funeral Home in Katy with Pastor Dan Bowden officiating. Interment followed in Brookside Cemetery in Houston, alongside his father and grandparents.
Survivors include his mother, Delta Crowson, son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Laci Crowson of Houston; son, Ryan Crowson, of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Travis Garza, of Wharton; sisters, Norma Sparkman and Marty Jeu, both of Houston; grandson, Tanner Crowson, of Houston; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother-in-law, Wayman Jeu.
Pallbearers were Nelson James, David Sparkman, Chris Sparkman, Steve Sparkman, Don Copeland, Don Howard, Bob Minnerich and John Guthrie.
