Carolyn Chapman (Phaup)

Carolyn Nanette Chapman Phaup of Cedar Lake Drive, Columbia, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 at 10 am. Carolyn was born in Huntington, West Virginia on February 15th 1941 to Clifton and Viola Chapman. She had one older sister, Betty Chapman Saunders, and two half-sisters, Nevada Cox and Gail Dean and one half-brother Jim Dickerson. She was a devoted daughter to her father Clifton, loved school, graduated from Huntington High School in 1959 and attended Marshall University in Huntington. 


At Marshall, she met and married Alvin Phaup of Richmond, Virginia, recently deceased. She has many beloved friends in Huntington, Saint Louis, and Columbia Missouri. Her passions in life were children, creating a loving and warm home, and her pets.


Carolyn was a devoted wife and dedicated mother. She has five children, Glenn, Sandy and her husband Matt, Mike and his wife Penny, Doug and his wife Jessica, and Joe. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Broud, Caitlin, Maggie, Sarah, Lachlan, and Betsy Sweeney; Emily, Alli, Sarah, Megan, and Julia Phaup; Oliver and Finley Phaup. She also has four great grandchildren. Visitation is set for Saturday January 7th at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia, Missouri from 5 pm to 7 pm. Burial services are set for Monday January 9th at 2pm at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, West Virginia.
