Helen Bowyer (Mack)

HELEN BOWYER MACK of Darby Drive, Lexington, Ohio, died May 15, 2007 following a long illness. Helen was born January 24, 1942 in Huntington, daughter of Orman and Jeanne Morris Bowyer.  Beause of her love for children and also her desire to pass on her passion for learning, Helen became a teacher. She attended Marshall University and graduated from the Ohio State University. She taught at Fredericktown Intermediate School for 27 years, where she received many recognititions including Teacher of the Year in 2002. She was a great motivator. She was given the National Honor Society Award on three separate occasions. She retired from Fredericktown schools in 2002 , then taught at Lexington Eastern Elementary School for four years. Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Cross. A devoted mother and grandmother, Helen is survived by her sons and a daughter-in-law, G. Douglas and Jodi Davidson and of Hilliard and Gregory A Davidson of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Richard Bowyer and Faith Bowyer of Fairmont, WV; a sister, Kay Houston of Princeton, NJ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
