Dwight Smith

DWIGHT D. SMITH SR., 68, of Huntington, W.Va., widower of Lillian Diane Withrow Smith, passed away Wednesday June 24, 2009, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.He was born March 28, 1941, in Huntington, a son of the late Ralph Thomas and Thelma Rutherford Smith. He was a machinist with B.H. Mott and Son and McCorkle Machine and Engineering. He was a member of Grace Gospel Church, President of the Tri-State Amateur Radio Association, Board Member of the Museum of Radio and Technology, Cabell County Convention and Visitors Bureau of Huntington, American Rifle Association, Amateur Radio Relay League and was a licensed amateur radio operator. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Madge Smith. Survivors include a son and daughter in law D. Darryl Smith Jr., and Leanna S. Smith; two godchildren, Megan Montanna Harless of Huntington and Thomas Marshall Harless of Lynn Haven, Fla; best friend Belle Burgess, and special friend and canine companion Dorri.
