ARNOLD BARKER MOORE Obituary
 




MR. ARNOLD BARKER MOORE, 73, of King, N.C., passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Moore was born November 27, 1941, in Huntington, W.Va., to the late William Moore and Virginia Ruth Irwin Moore. Arnold graduated from Marshall University and was a loyal supporter of the Thundering Herd. He loved everything "Marshall" and always looked forward to football season. Arnold enjoyed fishing, playing golf and preparing culinary masterpieces for his family. Mr. Moore retired from State Electric Supply with 40 years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Fred and Billy Moore. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Kathy Flinchum Moore of the home; five children, Debi Blake (Dan) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Pam Hanna (Mark) of Ona, W.Va., Sarah Montgomery (J.P.) of Lexington, Ky., Robert Elliott of King, N.C., and Josh Elliott of Kernersville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Jessie and Megan Blake of Nashville, Tenn., Aaron Hanna, Nancy Hanna, Aidan Hanna and Jonas Hanna, all of Ona, W.Va., P.J. and Ella Montgomery of Lexington, Ky., Audrey Elliott of Winston-Salem, N.C., Keelyn Elliott of Liberty, N.C., and McKenzie Elliott of North Augusta, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Liam and Lily Shotwell of Nashville, Tenn., and Samuel Hanna of Ona, W.Va.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Tim Revels of Mocksville, N.C.; nieces, Deanna Johnson (Bobby) and Tara Medley; grand-nieces, Kaitlin and Cody Johnson and Ava Medley; numerous other loving relatives; and his two beloved canine friends, Shadow and Sissy. A memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Dick Erdmann

Arnold was one of my closer friends at HHS and I many memories of the things we did together.  He will be sadly missed but the memories, and there are many, will remain.  My condolences to his family.
