John Williamson, 82, died August 23 in the Charleston Area Medical Center following an extended illness. John was born in Williamson June 18, 1941. He graduated from Marshall University in 1965.  He joined the West Virginia National Guard in 1966 and completed his service in 1972. John was employed by Houdaille Industries for nine years and then went to work for Walker Machinery Company in Belle, WV.

John was employed by Walker for 30, retiring as vice president of the company.  Upon retirement he moved to Greenbrier County where he loved to fish and play golf.

John moved to Charleston two years ago to be near his daughter, Mary Beth Rice. John’s son, Campbell Williamson, is an attorney in Atlanta. John is also survived by his wife, Mary Rachel Campbell Williamson.
