Anthony Allen Goodloe
Tony Goodloe was called home on Friday evening, after a long and valiant battle against cancer. Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Kim, and the two delights of his life, his daughter, Ashlynne and his son, James.
Tony was born in Huntsville. He graduated from Grissom High School in 1981 and from Auburn University in 1986 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Tony later did graduate work at UAH. Following graduation from Auburn Tony worked for Intergraph Corporation in Huntsville. Tony worked at ADTRAN, Inc. since 1995.
Besides his family and his Savior Jesus Christ, Tony's passions included music, computer systems engineering, ham radio, photography, and amateur astronomy. Among the many services he provided to his church, Tony helped found the Bread for the Journey Contemporary Service at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, John H. Goodloe. Survivors besides Tony's wife and children include his mother, Rosemary Watters Goodloe; his sister, Carol Ann; and his brothers, Mike and David. The family wants to express its deepest gratitude to Tony's parents-in-law, Jim and Jean Springer, his sister-in-law, Valerie Donham, her husband Brad, their children, Kayla and Alan, and his nephew, Justin Jessick, for all the care and love they provided to Tony through the years of his illness.
A memorial service for Tony will be held on Saturday, December 8, at 3:30 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church (12901 Bailey Cove Rd. SE). Everyone who knew and loved Tony is invited to share in this celebration of his life. The memorial will be a come as you are, casual service.
The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers in memory of Tony be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or the Russell Hill Cancer Foundation (www.russelhill.org).
