Emily Langhorne Lacy was born on October 25, 1957, in Huntsville Hospital and died peacefully at Huntsville Hospital on September 2, 2022. Emily was a 1975 graduate of Huntsville High School, attended Jacksonville State University and spent most of her working years at SCI in Huntsville.

She loved her Auburn Tigers and most days could be seen wearing some type of Auburn apparel. Her friend circle was large, and they spent many nights together enjoying each other’s company. Emily was witty, stubborn, loyal, and had a big heart. She loved her family and friends and if you were a friend, she might even give you one of her well-known backhands if you got out of line.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy and Lawrence Lacy; and brother-in-law, Billy Pruitt. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Pruitt; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Carlos Dominguez; her “adopted son”, Jerome Leslie; and her much loved cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ehab El-Bahesh and his wonderful staff for their concern and care and her many friends for their loving support over the last 4 years of her illness.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, 2320 Bob Wallace Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805. A graveside service will be Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
