Joe Edward "Ed" Magnusson, Jr., 62, lost his courageous battle to cancer Sunday, April 14, 2019. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany, Thursday, March 21, 1957 and was the son of the late Dr. Joe Ed Magnusson and the living Inge Wurbs Magnusson of Madison, AL. 

Ed graduated Huntsville High School in 1975. After graduation Ed studied refrigerator's and air conditioner's at NARS in Huntsville. He continuded his education by receveing a Bachelor's of Science from Athens State in 1992, and a Masters of Business from Alabama A&M in 1994. In 1996 he completed a professional educational program from the College For Financial Planning. Ed was a self-employed financial planner and a real-estate investment manager. In addition he was a Work Class Kansas City BBQ and Society Judge. Besides a Master BBQ Chef winning multiple grand championships from 2004-2012. 

He is survived by his mother, Inge; aunt, Renate Wurbs of Frankfurt, Germany; uncles, Ray (Shirley) Magnusson of Atlanta, GA, and Jerry (Nelda) Magnusson of Nashville, TN; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Also left behind was his dear friends, Steve Owens, Rick Magill, Johnny Trigg, Jeanne Bowman, Mark Wright, Pat Kiddes, Javier Garado, and Candi Weaver. Ed will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore,AL. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
