
Helen Yvonne Johnson Moore was born July 8, 1956 to the late Charles Moore, Sr. and Barbara Johnson. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age, and joined Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama, under the leadership of the late Reverend L.F. Lacy.
Helen has touched the lives of many. She was known to many as “Big Sister” and “Tee.” Her role as a caring sister, supportive aunt and devoted friend will never be forgotten.
Her service to Huntsville City Schools for over 30 years and her dedication to the “chosen program” at WEUP Radio Station did not go unnoticed.
Those that hold these precious moments are her late father: Mr. Chuck (Ann) Moore; mother: Barbara Johnson; her sisters: Annette (Anthony) Hawk-Rice, Selena Johnson, Dr. Jennifer Moore and Alicia Moore all of Huntsville, Alabama; her brothers: Charles (Pat) Moore, Jr., of Huntsville, Alabama, Antonio Smith of Denver, Colorado and Charles (Sharon) Smith of Brunswick, Maryland; her nieces: McKenna Davis of Huntsville, Alabama and Courtney Smith of Brunswick, Maryland; her nephews: Bryan Hawk and “Little Chuck” of Huntsville, Alabama, Travis Hawk of Nashville, Tennessee and Charles Johnson of Alexandria, Virginia; god-mother: Mary Hankins; two god-daughters: Vernlynsia and Anteryielle Paige of Houston, Texas; and a host of aunts, uncles, great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (315 Winchester Road, Huntsville, AL 35811) with Pastor Cornell Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Valhalla Memory Gardens. Mrs. Moore will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2015 and from 8:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Royal Funeral Home. https://www.royalfh.com/obituary/6510122
