Madeline Ferrell, 87, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. She was born in Belvedere, N.C. Her kindness and thoughtfulness will always be remembered by the many people whose lives she has touched.
She was active in the senior group at Willowbrook Baptist Church in Huntsville. She was secretary for the Alabama Baptist Library Association and helped establish the library for Willowbrook Baptist Church, where she was librarian for many years, as well as the library representative for the Madison County Baptist Association for 10 years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Tom; and two sons, Dennis and wife Denise, and Nelson and wife Sally; three grandchildren, Alan, Jason and wife Michelle, and Kevin and wife Brenna; and two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Brayden Ferrell. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Marty Jordan and Pastor Doug Merchant officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Morningside Baptist Building Fund.
