Corinne Fanning (Teacher-English)

Nov. 27, 1925 - Jan. 16, 2015

Corinne Fanning, 89, of Huntsville, joined her parents, two brothers and three of her sisters to be with the Lord on January 16. She and her twin sister Lorinne were the youngest of seven born in Dallas Mill Village in Huntsville.

She received her B.A. in Education from the University of Alabama and went on to acquire her Masters from Peabody College in Nashville, TN. After several years of teaching in Clarksville, TN and Albertville, AL, she returned to Huntsville where she taught English for 32 years at Huntsville Jr. High and High School.

After retirement, she worked for 25 years at the Eleanor Murphy Branch of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville where she served as an ordained Elder and as a Moderator and Bible study leader in Presbyterian Women. Her joy in life was always service to her Lord and to others.

She is survived by her twin sister, Lorinne Fanning Lilly; nephew, David Lilly, both of Huntsville; niece, Susan Lilly Berrian of Pensacola; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and family and friends.

Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Saturday, January 24 from 1-2 PM followed by a memorial service at 2:00. Family and friends are invited to attend the graveside burial service at Maple Hill Cemetery following the memorial service.
