Brenda L. Petersen, age 43, of Huron, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at her home.  Her funeral service will be at 11 AM, Monday, August 11th at the Living Hope Alliance Church with Rev. Brenda L. Volkers was born January 18, 1971, to Carl and Carolyn (Kleinsasser) Volkers at Worthington, Minnesota.  She grew up in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1989.  She later attended Augustana College at Sioux Falls, where she earned two degrees.

She married Regg Jenson and they had two children, William and Sarah.  They later divorced.

She married John Hall and they had one child, Sophia.  They later divorced.

On August 10, 2012, Brenda married Todd Petersen at Huron.

Brenda was an avid reader.  She enjoyed cooking, fishing, bon fires, and enjoyed spending time with her kitties.  Brenda loved her children deeply.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Clara Kleinsasser, Emil Quiram, and Ada Petersen.

She is survived by her husband, Todd Petersen of Huron; one son, William Jenson of Huron; two daughters, Sarah (Nate) Black of Huron and Sophia Hall of Sioux Falls; one grandson, Oliver Black; her mother, Carolyn (Bill) Quiram of Huron; her father, Carl (Eva) Volkers of Huron; three brothers, Chad Volkers of Spearfish, Bobby Volkers of Sioux Falls, and Royal (Amanda) Volkers of Sioux Falls; two sisters, Kimberly (Jason) Tyrrell of Huron and Charity (Dean) Royal of Macon, Georgia; her grandmother, Genevieve Quiram of Huron; her mother-in-law, Mary Jacobs of Huron; her father-in-law, Dennis Petersen of Huron; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Amy (Shayne) Raymer of Florence, David (Liz) Dody of Brookings, Heidi Jacobs of Huron, Eldon Jacobs of Huron, Rick LaHay of Cedar Rapid, Iowa, Keith Petersen of Huron, and Amanda (Ky) Dennis of Rapid City; and many nieces and nephews.
