        Below is a poem published in the June 1983 Issue of The Sojourner about the great East Burke High School "Riot" of Spring 1983.

One hot day at EB High School...

Slayer came and they wuz cool.

They broke into Ozzy and Judas Priest...

And had people dancing in their seats.

The crowd was rocking and getting wild...

with people jamming in the aisles.

They started streaming onto the floor...

taking in the sound and screaming for more.

Then Mr. Wall came into the place...

and looked at the students with unveiled disgrace.

He demanded that they return to class...

but they all sat down in a huddled mass.

They just laughed, cheered and sat right there.

Trossie felt it best to call the police...

and people were arrested to "keep the peace!"

But that won't stop us... no way, no no...

Cause we all love that Rock -N- Roll!
