After high school I went to BYU for a year, then served as missionary in Fresno, California under Randy Bott, who is one of the greatest teachers I have ever known, and teaches religion at BYU.
After my mission I went to BYU again and married Skye Strand who was from LeGrande, Oregon. I graduated from BYU as a Mechanical Engineer.
I worked for a few years as a software developer for an internet startup during the internet boom, where I worked with Michael Wickham, and Matthew Shumway (also from Bonneville). The company later was purchased by Motorola, where Michael Wickham continues to work as a software engineer.
After getting tired of full time software development, I decided to pursue a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in Indiana. After graduating from Purdue, I worked in Maryland as a civilian engineer for the Navy under the military aircraft design oversight group.
Skye and I recently moved back to Idaho Falls, where I work for the nuclear systems analysis division of ISL Inc. We love being close to family where our kids can be near grandparents.
