In Memory

Trevor Smith

Trever Gary Smith, 44, passed away on 10 July 2020 in Idaho Falls. He was born 20 September 1975 to Gary Vincent and Jenny Lee Beard Smith.

Trever graduated from Bonneville High School in 1993. He was also certified as a repair technician by Lincoln and Miller Welding Companies. He worked as an associate at Smith Food & Drug, Rossiter Electric, and as a pest control technician. Trever married Suzanne Pedersen on 8 August 1998 at The Loft in Ucon, Idaho. Their brief union was blessed with two of the best children to arrive on earth: Jadee and Tayben.

Trever was a devoted and protective brother, uncle and father. He enjoyed sharing his favorite hobbies with family and friends: riding motorcycles, fixing up trucks, building awesome stereo systems, and fishing. He could tell you all about the very best fishing holes from Idaho Falls to Wyoming, the best trails for riding, and the best places to get stuck in the mud in your truck with your buddies. Growing up, he spent many summers working on his grandparents’ ranch in Darby, Idaho. There he learned to work hard while also enjoying the simple things that country living has to offer. One of his favorite experiences was being able to break a new horse with his Grandpa Beard, which he named “Chub”. Trever could learn to do anything he decided to do.

Trever is survived by his daughter and son, Jadee Kjell and Tayben Gary Smith of Idaho Falls; his parents, Jenny and Gary Smith of Idaho Falls; grandmother, Dorlene Burgener Beard of Darby/Rexburg; brother, Brandon (Heather) Smith of Springville, Utah; sister, Kimberly Jo Seward of Idaho Falls; three nephews (Caleb and Jarom Smith, and Harley Seward); a niece (Annalie Smith); a large family of cousins, aunts and uncles; and former spouse Suzanne Smith Nelson. He was preceded in death by three of his grandparents: Lee Octave Smith (1909-1996), Opal Alice Kirkpatrick (1921-2017), and William Virgil Beard (1931-2020).

A graveside service will be held in the Driggs, Idaho Cemetery on Tuesday, 14 July 2020 at 1:30pm. Trever’s family would like to express gratitude for those who served and remembered him through the difficult final years of his life.
