Conan Carlyle

Robert Conan Carlyle, 35, of Idaho Falls passed away March 1, 2010. Conan was born Jan. 23, 1975, to Brad Carlyle and Christina Johnson in Rock Springs, Wyo. His then-5-year-old sister, Camy, was ecstatic to finally have a new baby brother at home. Conan's family moved to Idaho Falls when he was about 2 years old. He attended Falls Valley Elementary, Bonneville Junior High and Bonneville High schools. Camy and Conan spent their summers playing with neighborhood friends and Conan made a lifelong friend when he met Jimmy. Jimmy's house was his second home growing up and Conan very much looked forward to visiting Jim in Montana in recent years. Conan discovered a new talent and perfected his skill as a finish carpenter and concrete designer. He was a perfectionist with his work which can be seen at various businesses and homes throughout eastern Idaho. All of the concrete work at his dad's house was done by Conan. Conan was blessed with musical and artistic talents. He enjoyed playing the drums and guitar, even joining a band when he was a teenager and playing at local establishments. Conan gained a love of camping and outdoor life and enjoyed many weekends camping and four-wheeling with his friends. Conan was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his playful and faithful companions, Kato and Cash. Conan had many friends but his dear friends, Cory and Jimmy, have been there for him through thick and thin. He loved spending time with them and they have such great memories of him. Conan will be greatly missed by all those who have had the honor of knowing him. Conan is survived by his father and stepmother, Brad and Kerri Carlyle of Idaho Falls; sisters, Camy (Brandon) Hertz of Idaho Falls, and Chantal Carlyle of Winlock, Wash.; brother, Scott (Megan) Gutke of Idaho Falls; stepbrother, Brandon (Melissa) Rhodehouse of Idaho Falls; stepsister, Brooke (Guy) Rodriguez of Kennewick, Wash.; grandmother, Marva Powledge of Goose Creek, S.C.; stepmother, Natalie Miller of Winlock, Wash.; stepgrandparents, Vern and Sharon Conlin of Idaho Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Conan was preceded in death by his mother, Tina; grandparents, Harry and Gayle Johnson, and Robert Carlyle. At Conan's request, there will be a cremation. A gathering for friends and family in his honor will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th St. in Idaho Falls.
