Bruce Dilworth VIEW PROFILE

Bruce Kay Dilworth, 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born July 18, 1951, in Carey, Idaho, to Melvin Reed Dilworth and Mary Val Jean Draper Dilworth. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School, where he participated in Commercial Art Club and served on the Art Club Float Committee. He continued his education at Boise State College and the Links School of Business.Bruce served his country in the Idaho National Guard for six years.

On July 7, 1973, he married Merlene Joy Lewis in Idaho Falls. They lived in Boise and Portland, Oregon, before moving back to Idaho Falls. Bruce valued hard work and over the years moved pipe, weeded beets, worked at the Red Steer, Kwollice and Richards, Rogers Brothers, Burley Processing, McDonald’s, Construction Supply, Joy’s Gifts, and WinCo. They were the owners of Busy Bee Bargains. Bruce was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed art, painting, throwing pottery, making jewelry, tole painting, and was a certified floral arranger. Bruce created beautiful Christmas ornaments and sold them at craft fairs over the past 28 years.

Survivors include his wife, Merlene Joy Dilworth of Idaho Falls, and their furry child, Little Princess, also called “Veevee.” He is also survived by his three brothers: David Blake (Linda) Dilworth of Idaho Falls; Melvin Bradly (JeanAnne) Dilworth of Caldwell, Idaho; and Jean Brent (Stuart Moser) Dilworth of Rigby, Idaho; as well as his three sisters: Patsy Lee (Terril) Thornock of Idaho Falls; Paula McRae of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Paulette Dilworth of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Val Jean; a sister, Penny Buckland; three brothers, Randy Dilworth, Brett Dilworth, Robin Dilworth; and his furry children, Dalme, Bossy, Sandy, Sweetheart, Oscar, Patsey, Little Sister, Snowball, Tobie, Rusty, and Tawnie Mae.
