I came across Tom's obituary when I was visiting Indianapolis from Chicago, where I live. I would guess it was the mid-1990s (I don't know the exact year). Tom was very big into audio/visual work at FC (I know he did the lights for some of the musicals the drama department put on). And he was on the WRFT radio staff, as was I (I believe he was the music director). I still remember that he got so fed up with everybody on the staff playing Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad" on WRFT at Christmas time (it was the only pop-like Christmas song we had in the music library), that he hid the record so it could be played no longer! He might have even broken the record into a million pieces, the memory is fuzzy.
In the late 80s/early 90s while I was still living in Indianapolis, I saw Tom on a public access TV station doing skits and music reviews with some other folks (kind of like Wayne's World). It looked like he was enjoying himself and was in his element. I remember watching a few of his shows, which were actually fairly entertaining, but never thought to get back in touch. I don't know the details of his passing, but it really made me stand up and take notice about how life has no guarantees. RIP Tom.
