Charles Leonard, 64, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, Monday, August 18, 2014 at home with his family by his side. A prayer service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Dunn's Funeral Home with a visitation from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service, burial will be private.

Charles was born in Sac City to Robert and Josephine (Cram) Leonard on July 10, 1950 and was a graduate of Indianola High School, then completed his apprenticeship with the Carpenter's Local 106. Charles operated his own construction company for 40 years.

Charles loved riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and dogs. 

Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years, Amy; daughters, Lisa Miliner (Chris) and Laura Provencher (Tim); parents, Robert and Josephine Leonard, brothers, Calvin Leonard and Clint Leonard; and 6 grandchildren, Garet, Devan, Carrie, Noah, Evan and Sidney.
