Judy Surber (Logan)


Judy D. Logan (nee Surber), 72, passed away peacefully in her Cape Coral home in the early morning of April 1, 2024.

Judy was born on May 19, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Dale and Lois Surber. Judy lived in Indianola, Iowa for 37 years before moving to North Carolina for 2 years and then New Jersey for 31 years, finally moving to Florida in 2021.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and brother Roger. Judy is survived by her husband Rodney J. Logan, four children, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. 
Judy worked for the Department of Defense for 35 years for both the US Army and US Marine Corps in various positions including telecommunications, recruiting and logistics before taking up a life of leisure as a retiree in 2017.
Judy was a loving wife and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. As the matriarch of the family, Judy was a family-oriented, no-nonsense, tenacious, hardworking, caring women who went through life maintaining a level outlook, grounded in a common-sense approach to living life.
Judy will be loved and missed by all and in our hearts forever. 
A Celebration of Life is planned for late-June in Indianola, Iowa with internment at the IOOF cemetery.

Mary Ford (Krier)

Judy moved to Indianola when we were all still in grade school.  She joined our Camp Fire Girls group, and was a fun-loving beautiful young girl. Her strapless hot pink or bright orange prom dress our senior year, was a show stopper!    We maintained a friendship into adulthood, and I always appreciated her direct and intelligent no-nonsense approach to life.  She will be greatly missed...
