Brief (or not so brief) life story so far:

Escaping the cornfields of Iowa, Marji attended Simpson College and Iowa State University to study psychology and speech pathology. After completing a Master's degree in counseling at the University of Missouri - Columbia, she moved to Seattle, Washington, became immersed in HIV/AIDs prevention education and thus launched her career of service and leadership in health and social service organizations.
Brought back to the Midwest by family ties, Marji's work has focused primarily on impacting the lives of women and children. Her endeavors have ranged from implementing a mentoring program for urban teen mothers that successfully reduced recurrent pregnancy rates to developing continuing education programs for health practitioners serving low income women and adolescents.
Marji currently serves as director of The PIPELINE, a program designed to enhance the educational opportunities of students in the Kansas City, MO School District. She is licensed massage therapist and has created several programs to reduce tension and stress in the work-place. Marji believes most of us have forgotten how to relax and need to be reminded of ways to take care of ourselves!
